Laurence Gauvin

Nutritionist, Expert in Eating Disorders in Adults and Adolescents

Hello, my name is Laurence Gauvin, and I am the founder and director of LauGau Nutrition – Eating Disorders – Anti-Diet Clinic. I hold a bachelor’s degree and a professional master’s degree in nutrition from the Université de Montréal, and I have 15 years of experience in nutritional counseling.

While pursuing my studies, I worked as a professional model for the Specs and Ema agencies. My master’s thesis focused on the Quebec Charter for a Healthy and Diverse Body Image, in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ). This allowed me to deepen my understanding of how the media and the fashion industry can contribute to excessive weight concerns among women. I also studied factors driving the current thinness ideal, issues related to body dissatisfaction, and the social context of anorexia and bulimia.

After completing my degree, my passion for treating eating disorders led me to work in private practice with adolescents and adults struggling with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. To further develop my expertise, I completed several specialized training programs focused on disordered eating behaviors and their treatment. I also completed an internship in the eating disorders unit at Sainte-Justine Hospital and volunteered as a discussion group facilitator with Aneb Québec.

Always staying up to date with the latest research on nutrition and passionate about making information accessible, I give lectures to healthcare professionals and supervise nutritionists working in the field of eating disorders. I also enjoy hosting radio segments and providing nutritional guidance at public events.
