Mindful Eating Exposure Workshop Mindfulness

70$
At LauGau Nutrition, you have the chance to experiment with mindfulness with an expert nutritionist in order to rediscover a peaceful, less fearful relationship with food.
This group course offers a safe, therapeutic space to explore your relationship with certain foods that can generate anxiety.
This workshop is also applicable to anyone currently on the road to recovery from an eating disorder.
Please note: To enjoy this experience, you must have with you a food that generates anxiety at an acceptable level, allowing you to eat it in a group. Example: Dessert, fast food, candy of your choice or any other food that makes you feel guilty.

Does that ring a bell?

  1. Are you ready to eat foods that frighten you as a group in order to move towards healing?
  2. Do you feel that certain “pleasure” foods are controlling you?
  3. Are you rarely in the present moment when you eat food rich in calories, fat or sugar?
  4. Do you feel anxious or guilty when you eat foods that you think could make you put on weight?
  5. Fear of judgment is present when you eat in general

Topics covered:

– Addressing fears or beliefs that arise from eating “forbidden” or guilt-inducing foods
– How to apply mindful eating
– Self-regulation techniques: learning strategies to manage stress and anxiety during food exposure

Format:

70 (taxes included) per person online via the Zoom platform.

A receipt will be given at the end of each workshop so you can claim on your private insurance or for tax purposes.

Laurence Gauvin

Nutritionist, Expert in Eating Disorders in Adults and Adolescents

Hello, my name is Laurence Gauvin, and I am the founder and director of the LauGau Nutrition – Eating Disorders – Anti-Diet clinic. I hold a bachelor’s degree and a professional master’s degree in nutrition from the Université de Montréal, and I also have 15 years of experience in nutritional counseling.

While pursuing my studies, I worked as a professional model for the Specs and Ema agencies. My master’s work focused on the Quebec Charter for a Healthy and Diverse Body Image, in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ). Through this experience, I deepened my knowledge of the impact that the media and the fashion industry can have on excessive weight concerns among women. I also studied the factors contributing to today’s thinness ideal, issues related to body dissatisfaction, as well as the social context of anorexia and bulimia.

After earning my degree, my passion for the treatment of eating disorders led me to work in private practice with adolescents and adults living with anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. To further develop my expertise, I completed several specialized training programs focused on disordered eating behaviors and their treatment. I also completed an internship at the eating disorders unit of Sainte-Justine Hospital and facilitated discussion groups on a volunteer basis with Aneb Québec.

Always staying up to date with the latest research on nutrition and driven by a strong interest in making information accessible, I give lectures to healthcare professionals and supervise nutritionists working in the field of eating disorders. I also enjoy hosting radio segments and providing nutritional advice at public events.
